The menu at Anita’s Kitchen is a treasure trove of Mediterranean delights, each dish crafted with care and a touch of culinary artistry. Start your experience with the irresistible cold appetizers—imagine the creamy, velvety texture of the traditional hommus, or the smoky depth of the baba ghannouge blending roasted eggplant with hints of garlic and lemon. For those who appreciate variety, the trio of hommus flavors offers an exciting way to tempt your palate and share with friends.
For the main course, diners rave about the succulent Chicken Shawarma, perfectly marinated and served with crisp lettuce, pickles, and a housemade garlic sauce that delivers a fragrant, garlicky punch. Equally compelling is the Beef Shawarma, where tender ribeye mingles with fresh red onions and the nutty richness of tahini sauce. If you’re seeking a taste of the grill, the lamb burger—seasoned just right with onion, parsley, and signature spices—is paired flawlessly with golden house fries, creating a hearty, satisfying meal. Vegetarians and vegans are also thoroughly catered for with standout options like the chickpea & quinoa burger, bursting with aromatic herbs and wholesome textures.
The salad offerings, such as The Goods Salad featuring seasonal ingredients, and the Greek Salad, provide a refreshing balance of crisp, vibrant notes and traditional Mediterranean flavors. Don’t miss the lemon lentil soup or the spinach pie entrée for something heartwarming yet light. Complement your meal with a rich Turkish Coffee or a glass from their carefully curated wine list to enhance the dining experience.

Every bite at Anita’s Kitchen tells a story of freshness and elevated flavors, from the house-seasoned fries that Sean Estes couldn’t stop enjoying to the decadent vegan chocolate cake that perfectly capped a meal. The combination platter of hommus, tabbouleh, and baba ghanouge is highly recommended for sharing or as a fulfilling meal in itself, offering a vibrant sampler of Mediterranean tradition.

Visited for an evening meal (6-8PM). Very impressed with the food, staff and seating; sat outside under cover with heatlamps, very warm and comfy. A lot of great Vegan options explicitly marked on the menu, which me and my partner really appreciate. Hommus was delicious, I highly recommend the combination platter as an appetizer to share or meal fe one. I also had the ginger molasses cookie which I loved. We're definitely coming back here.
Food was excellent! Service was great! Their house seasoned fries were a must! I almost couldn’t stop eating them. The Gyro was really good as well. My favorite item so far would have to be the Carrot Cake though! I also ordered a Moscow mule which tasted pretty weak but aside from that my experience was damn near perfect.
Food was amazing. The chocolate cake was gluten free and vegan, and it was amazing. I loved the shuberry fields cocktail - so refreshing! Service was some of the best. The chicken pita sandwich was off the chain!! The jalapeño sauce that comes with it was so spicy and delicious. Everyone loved their food, even someone at our table that was gluten free and dairy free! Clearly labeled menu that made everyone happy!!! Would definitely come back here!
Exceptional Experience – Fresh, Flavorful, and Elevated From start to finish, everything was impressively fresh—including the attentive and refreshing service. Every appetizer and dish we ordered exceeded expectations in both presentation and flavor. What truly sets this place apart from other Mediterranean eateries around Dearborn is the full-service bar, offering beautifully crafted custom cocktails mixed to perfection. A standout dining experience on every level.
I have normally only eaten in at Anita's Kitchen in Ferndale before. I ordered late night takeout for the first time this week. The staff was super helpful, friendly and timely with the phone order. I didn't know they had curbside pickup, but didn't worry about parking after 8 pm. I ordered the Chicken Feta Fattoush salad and a side of seasoned fries. The salad portion was substantial and delicious. Salad came with a quarter folded full-size pita as well. The seasoned chicken was amazing. Greens, herbs and vegetables were all super fresh. The seasoned fries were a little soft by the time I got home (can't be helped) seasoning was perfect though. I saved half the salad, a handful of reheated fries and the pita for a wrap as my next day's lunch. I would highly recommend Anita's Kitchen Ferndale for delicious fresh food that you feel good eating as takeout option or dining in with a cozy atmosphere.
My partner is Lupus/Celiac. She is not a vegan. It is so difficult in 2025 to find a place that understands the difference. So many things for vegans, which is a choice. Anita's Kitchen went so far above and beyond any restaurant we have been to (even where we live downtown..sorry we have not been to your downtown location yet) to ensure they were able to accommodate our specific, but not unusual dietary restrictions. Usually even if a place feels empathetic, they can only say sorry and can't do anything about it, even if they want to. You made us feel welcome, safe and very satiated. She was even able to eat multiple desserts. More of this please. Thank you so much.
